FAQS

Where do you work?

I currently work guesting from a number of studios in Melbourne, Australia. This location will be provided to you at the time of your booking. Please let me know if you have specific questions regarding the space and any accommodations you require. If needed, I will find a specific space to work from that meets your needs.

DO YOU EVer do guest spots or conventions?

I regularly travel between Australia and New Zealand as I own a studio in Auckland. Keep an eye out on my socials for upcoming travels news or conventions.

Can i see my design before my appointment? What is your process?

Unfortunately, I don't share designs beforehand as it's a risk for me. Once a booking is confirmed and a deposit is paid, I'll draw your tattoo on the appointment day to align with my schedule. Additionally, because I don’t add shading to my drawings and the design is not final, sending you the design might not be the true representation of the tattoo, that’s why on the day I have time to talk through the design, colours if that’s the case, and other elements of the tattoo that make it so much easier to talk face to face than over email.  Being a neurodivergent artist and a busy mom, this approach better suits my creative process. I often freehand tattoos on the skin, valuing client input. Although it might take a bit longer, this method aligns with my creative needs. I'd appreciate your trust and cooperation during the tattooing process, as micromanaging is challenging for me. Thanks for understanding!

Do you have designs available to choose from?

If custom work or freehand tattoos make you uncomfortable, no worries—I have a book with available designs to choose from. Check out my Instagram's regularly updated concepts highlight for more design ideas.

Can i change my idea before the appointment?

If you decide to change the entire tattoo concept after I've agreed to the initial idea, there's a chance this might forfeit your deposit. Currently, I'm only taking on ideas that I feel passionate about.

can i bring someone to my appointment?

For the comfort of other clients and artists, we kindly request that you, if possible, refrain from bringing anyone else along with you, as this could be distracting in what is supposed to be a relaxed environment for other people. However, should you require someone, please contact me before your booking to confirm that we can accommodate additional persons in the studio.

Can I come to my appointment with numbing cream on? What do you recommend for pain management?

I'll avoid it unless we discuss it before your appointment. While it doesn’t happen with every tattoo, I and many other artists have found that numbing creams more often than not cause tattoos to heal poorly. Additionally, many of these products have questionable or unregulated ingredients, putting their safety into question. For these reasons, I will not provide a free touch-up if you choose to accept the risk and use a numbing cream for your tattoo.

As much as you may think it does or doesn’t hurt your body is already considering its in pain and as such it goes into fight or flight response, which activates your sympathetic nervous system. This results in a rush of adrenaline and the release of endorphins, your body's natural pain relievers.

The best thing you can do in preparation for a tattoo is to eat a filling meal and stay hydrated. Taking time to ease any anxieties will help you handle the pain better:

Focus on your breathing, and put all your energy into keeping your breath even and regulated. Bring headphones to listen to calming music, a good audiobook, or whatever helps settle your mind. I keep an assortment of stress balls and fidget toys in my workstation for clients to borrow.

I want you to take as many breaks as you need to, but taking too many can actually make the situation more unbearable. Your brain will produce endorphins in response to pain which helps you tolerate the tattooing process. When you take a break, the brain stops producing as many endorphins because the tattooing pain has stopped. When we resume tattooing, the brain starts producing endorphins again. Taking too frequent breaks will put your brain and nervous system through a roller coaster of increasing and decreasing hormones, so you want to avoid that additional stress on your body.
